The Art of You

if you were a sculpture

trapped in the walls of a gallery

i’d cross my legs

and behold you

study you

perceive you in every imaginable way

to know you

to grasp you

to look so long until you breathe

i’d wait for you

or for me to become

a version of art

that gets to stay

i’d replicate you

just so there’s more of your existence in this world

i’d dive into your brilliance

every nook and cranny

i’d marvel at it

i’d spend every breath

every second

keeping you company

or perhaps you’d be keeping me company

as you are now,

living, breathing art

i marvel at your ethereal existence

the invisible string

that’s pulled us into the same room

breathing the same air

thank god it’s wound as tightly

as it is now

every word you utter,

never a waste

only ever sounds

evident of the intricacies

of your mind

your mind into your hands

as you capture

the life in the lives

many choose to blind themselves to

what a phenomenon

to exist alongside you

to get to capture you in every light

every conversation

every kiss and every touch

love is too frail a word

i see you

i perceive you

and i will patiently

learn

every aspect of you

i accept you

i cherish you

i get to learn you

to treasure every version

of your evolution

in every chapter

what a fiery book you are to read

you exist, Che

what a miracle .

you exist and that’s more than a enough for me .
